The Challenge
Jemabonne.fr’s digital agency, JVWEB, wished to explore how video creative could be harnessed to drive magazine subscriptions with a greater level of efficiency. JVWEB knew that in order to achieve this objective, high-quality, optimized video creative that followed best practices would be key. However, Jemabonne unfortunately didn’t have these types of assets at their disposal.
With the goal of showing their client the performance power that video has, JVWEB sought a video creative partner in order to develop a set of ads optimized for Facebook and Instagram, helping them promote a special offer on ELLE subscriptions.
Solution
The team at JVWEB decided to work with Shuttlerock in order to develop the assets by recrafting existing static imagery. These existing images included a selection of front page covers of different ELLE editions along with an ELLE beach bag and towel which served as special promotional gifts for the campaign offer.
With these assets in-hand, Shuttlerock’s in-house design team was able to bring them to life, adding motion through animation and editing each component together to create a 13-second video ad. Designing for Facebook and Instagram’s in-feed and story placements, two videos were produced in the ratios of 1:1 and 9:16 respectively. Optimizing for these placements, Shuttlerock’s creative team ensured that messaging was concise, branding was prominent, and that a strong CTA was featured.
With these key elements nailed down, the ad was geared to successfully drive viewers towards Jemabonne.fr's subscription landing page.
