How Nestlé used 3D production to produce a powerful toolkit to launch their new Milo Protein Snack bar

The Brief

Nestlé Australia & New Zealand (ANZ) were looking for a creative partner to execute a 3D video toolkit for the launch of their new MILO Protein Snack Bar. The toolkit would include creative optimized for placements across social, online video, out-of-home, and transit media. 

By using 3D renders within the videos, Nestlé were looking to capture attention and convey the cravability of the protein bars.

By working closely with our channel partners, CreativeX and numerous Nestlé brands globally, we were well suited to the production of this end-to-end project.

3D LAYERS

HERO VIDEO

To produce the key visual & campaign toolkit, our design team worked with art direction provided by Nestlé and MILO's creative agency, Ogilvy. First, we developed 3D layers of the packshot, MILO powder, chocolate, and cereal pieces. Then, we used these layers to form the campaign's key visual.

 

These elements were then brought together using animation and motion graphics to create high-impact videos. Our team also created custom voice-overs (VO) that were added to each video to help strengthen the message with sound on viewers. 

 

During the production process, our design team also worked hand-in-hand with the brand to ensure all creative elements were in accordance with their legal, regulatory, and digital content guidelines.

The Toolkit

To help MILO activate this campaign far and wide, a range of creative variations were provided. The variations were optimized to meet creative best practices for placements across social, digital out-of-home (DOOH), and online video. 

 

Each deliverable in the toolkit achieved a 100% Creative Quality Score (CQS) through CreativeX. This gave the brand assurance that each creative was aligned with platform-specific best practices, giving the campaign the best shot at achieving max performance.

For MILO to get even more value out of this toolkit, we also provided evergreen variations of each of the deliverables above. These variations removed the “New” messaging, enabling the client to utilize the creative beyond the initial launch period.

In total, 26 deliverables were produced, with a 10-day turnaround from the submission of the brief to the delivery of the hero 3D video. Shuttlerock's streamlined production techniques enabled the project to be produced at a 65% lower cost than what was quoted by other creative solutions. The creatives achieved 100% Creative Quality Scores (CQS) via
CreativeX and the TikTok Top View Ad resulted in 2x higher video watch time compared to the benchmark.
